SNOW

This weekend we got tons of snow - matter of fact it beat the record of most snow in a day! It was like 8-9 inches! We had lots of fun - well ROB had lots of fun. Of course we got a quick picture of Beckham in the snow, but the two of us stayed inside to keep warm (especially because he has just gotten better from being sick!) But Rob spent two full days outside in the snow. He and our cute little niece Brighton built 3 snowmen to resemble Robbie, Brighton, and Beckham. Rob did most of the work while Brighton ate all the snow!!! The next day Willie (Brighton's dad), Rob, and Nick (Rob's 12 year old brother) built a snow fort... The rest of the day was spent protecting the fort from a gang of neighborhood kids who kept trying to knock it over.

I am not gonna lie - I hate cold weather and I hate the snow - but they sure had a fun time. Now, just as I suspected, it is disgusting outside and will be for days until all of it melts and goes away...

We ended our weekend with a fun Valentines Day - Beckhams first! He got a squishy green ball from mom and dad for V-day ... he loves it! I cooked a dinner for Rob and now we are watching the AllStar game... It was a great day!

Thankful

The past few weekends, Rob has been out of town. He has been doing some youth events for churches and this weekend he is in Chicago to be trained for a mission trip this summer to Dominican Republic. While he has been gone I have realized how much I really do enjoy his company. I have noticed a few things that I seem to take for granted...

1. Help with Beckham
Having another set of hands is a big deal! Beckham is only 5 months old so he doesn't sit up yet. So he really only plays by himself for very short amounts of time. All the other time he has to be held, rocked, or you have to be making funny noises or singing loudly in his face. I certainly love playing with and holding Beckham but having Rob around makes it much more fun and less tiring. Plus when we are both here we harmonize while singing loudly to Beckham - much more entertaining for Beckham.

2. Conversation/Company
Beckham is on a schedule where he takes 2-3 naps a day
and goes to sleep around 7:30 or 8. Once he is asleep, obviously we are stuck at home... When Rob is gone, I usually watch lots of TV - mainly Law & Order (matter of fact, that is what I am doing right now and I had to change the channel because I had already seen the episode! - pretty sad.) Anyways it is way more fun when Rob is home, because although we are stuck at home at 8pm every night, at least we can spend time together watching tv, visiting, playing cards, etc.

3. Humor
Rob is the funniest person I know - he makes me laugh more than anyone. I am pretty funny myself but not funny enough to entertain myself while he is gone.

4. Strength/Driving
One thing I really enjoy about being married is letting Rob drive. For some reason I don't enjoy the process of getting from one place to another. It is nice to have someone to warm up the car, lug the babyseat in and out of the car, drop us curbside, etc. When I am by myself it seems like lots of trouble to pack up and travel somewhere - even if its just to my parents a few miles away - so we usually just stay in the house simply to avoid the hassle.

To sum this up, I love my husband and can't wait for him to get home.

It's an ear infection

We went to the doctor yesterday and had to go into the 'sick door' - this was a first. He is five months old and this is his first time to be 'sick' - we found out he has an ear infection. We got an antibiotic late yesterday and they say within 2 days he should feel MUCH better.

Because of the pain in his ear and his cough, it is hard for him to sleep, so last night he slept in between Rob and I. Although neither of us got much sleep, it was such a sweet experience to be able to hold him and do our best to make him feel better throughout the night. As he laid between us we looked at one another and realized that from now on 'it's not about us' anymore - we have a little baby who is priority now and neither one of us would have it any other way! Feel better Beckham - we love you.
