school

beckham goes to school at fbc lewisville on mondays and fridays and he loves it. is it funny how quickly children adapt. the first day i dropped him off was horrible, he cried when i dropped him off, he was sad the whole time, and was very sleepy because they only get one nap and he is used to two. now when i take him he walks ahead of me and goes straight into the room without even looking back at me. it is so neat how they learn and grow. anyhow last week he had pajama day and had a blast all the kids and teachers were in pajamas and it was very cute.

Ruff Ruff

Beckham loves barking like a dog so we are planning to dress him as a doggie for Halloween. I got him a costume at Target but he doesn't like to wear it, so a friend let us try their costume and he seems to like it more. :)

pumpkin patch

last week we took a trip to the pumpkin patch. it was fun. pretty hot and no matter how much bug spray we put on beckham he gets bites all on his face! how often do you even see people with mosquito bites on their face! so weird. so our trip wasn't long but we got some cute pics.

september 2010

fall is here and i have done some crafts and made a wreath to start my fall decor!

beckham has started going to school on mondays and fridays and he really likes it. after his first week he came home walking! he is the very youngest in his class so he is going to learn lots from the big kids.

we have also done some fall clothes shopping and it is not cold enough yet but this is one of the outfits i am excited for him to wear once it gets chilly. he is so cute.

august 2010

august was a very fun month! we started off by going on a trip to destin with my entire family. all children included. rob and i came home realizing that our 'vacations' will never ever be the same again. we woke up at 7am and were so tired by the end of each day that we went to bed at like 9! so we will definitely be planning a trip without beckham sometime soon ;)

one of the main things we did in destin was play weenie in the pool - if you dont know what weenie is, watch below:

we also celebrated beckhams 1st birthday and we had a 'ball'!

july 2010

rob went to dominican republic on a mission trip for two weeks in june. he had a life changing trip. he went with a team of students from bent tree and although beckham and i missed him dearly - he had a great time.

the week after he got home from dominican he played for fbc lewisville's summer camp and beckham and i got to tag along - we had a blast!

june 2010

mom, grayson and i all went to new york for 'the weaving' done by studio a. we had lots of fun and i had the best icecream cone of my life. i will admit i am not cut out for the concrete jungle and do not really care to ever go back :) we stayed at the empire hotel - yes, the one that chuck bass owns (in case you dont watch gossip girl, thats a big deal.)

on june 2 rob and i celebrated 3 years of marital bliss. we are so blessed.

may 2010

may was a busy month. brooke had a birthday. brooke graduated. rob went on baseball trip with his dad and brother. we celebrated mothers day. rob stood on a board while drinking coffee (supposedly a big deal). indie was in hospital. enjoy pics below.

April 2010

Traveling

The past two weekends we have been on road trips! Last weekend we drove to Lubbock to see Aunt Cookie and Uncle Naynin and some sweet Lubbock friends. We had a blast! We stayed with the Harliens in their awesome home and Beckham got to play with Kate (very cute little girl!) We went to a Tech basketball game but they lost to Texas... It was a very fun weekend and Beckham was a good traveler for his first time! He slept most of the way and everytime he fell asleep he covered his face up with blankets ... it was too funny! We had tons of cute photos on Rob's phone but it crashed on the way home and we lost them all - I captured a few on mine - You can see a few below:

This last weekend we went to Pine Cove for a highschool retreat with Bent Tree. It was so fun! Beckham had a great time watching all the kids play and listening to the band. He can't wait until he is old enough to be able to play as well! While traveling we were able to get Beckham to begin taking a bottle ... we hadn't had much luck with that before. But now he LOVES bottles and he can even hold it all by himself like a BIG BOY! See for yourself...

SNOW

This weekend we got tons of snow - matter of fact it beat the record of most snow in a day! It was like 8-9 inches! We had lots of fun - well ROB had lots of fun. Of course we got a quick picture of Beckham in the snow, but the two of us stayed inside to keep warm (especially because he has just gotten better from being sick!) But Rob spent two full days outside in the snow. He and our cute little niece Brighton built 3 snowmen to resemble Robbie, Brighton, and Beckham. Rob did most of the work while Brighton ate all the snow!!! The next day Willie (Brighton's dad), Rob, and Nick (Rob's 12 year old brother) built a snow fort... The rest of the day was spent protecting the fort from a gang of neighborhood kids who kept trying to knock it over.

I am not gonna lie - I hate cold weather and I hate the snow - but they sure had a fun time. Now, just as I suspected, it is disgusting outside and will be for days until all of it melts and goes away...

We ended our weekend with a fun Valentines Day - Beckhams first! He got a squishy green ball from mom and dad for V-day ... he loves it! I cooked a dinner for Rob and now we are watching the AllStar game... It was a great day!

Thankful

The past few weekends, Rob has been out of town. He has been doing some youth events for churches and this weekend he is in Chicago to be trained for a mission trip this summer to Dominican Republic. While he has been gone I have realized how much I really do enjoy his company. I have noticed a few things that I seem to take for granted...

1. Help with Beckham
Having another set of hands is a big deal! Beckham is only 5 months old so he doesn't sit up yet. So he really only plays by himself for very short amounts of time. All the other time he has to be held, rocked, or you have to be making funny noises or singing loudly in his face. I certainly love playing with and holding Beckham but having Rob around makes it much more fun and less tiring. Plus when we are both here we harmonize while singing loudly to Beckham - much more entertaining for Beckham.

2. Conversation/Company
Beckham is on a schedule where he takes 2-3 naps a day
and goes to sleep around 7:30 or 8. Once he is asleep, obviously we are stuck at home... When Rob is gone, I usually watch lots of TV - mainly Law & Order (matter of fact, that is what I am doing right now and I had to change the channel because I had already seen the episode! - pretty sad.) Anyways it is way more fun when Rob is home, because although we are stuck at home at 8pm every night, at least we can spend time together watching tv, visiting, playing cards, etc.

3. Humor
Rob is the funniest person I know - he makes me laugh more than anyone. I am pretty funny myself but not funny enough to entertain myself while he is gone.

4. Strength/Driving
One thing I really enjoy about being married is letting Rob drive. For some reason I don't enjoy the process of getting from one place to another. It is nice to have someone to warm up the car, lug the babyseat in and out of the car, drop us curbside, etc. When I am by myself it seems like lots of trouble to pack up and travel somewhere - even if its just to my parents a few miles away - so we usually just stay in the house simply to avoid the hassle.

To sum this up, I love my husband and can't wait for him to get home.

It's an ear infection

We went to the doctor yesterday and had to go into the 'sick door' - this was a first. He is five months old and this is his first time to be 'sick' - we found out he has an ear infection. We got an antibiotic late yesterday and they say within 2 days he should feel MUCH better.

Because of the pain in his ear and his cough, it is hard for him to sleep, so last night he slept in between Rob and I. Although neither of us got much sleep, it was such a sweet experience to be able to hold him and do our best to make him feel better throughout the night. As he laid between us we looked at one another and realized that from now on 'it's not about us' anymore - we have a little baby who is priority now and neither one of us would have it any other way! Feel better Beckham - we love you.

Sick 5 month old...

Beckham has not been feeling well. He woke up yesterday with bad congestion and a fever. It is the worst thing to have a sick baby and not be able to help him. I wish I could just teach him how to blow his nose! He would feel so much better and it could be so simple! So for the past two days he and I have just been at home watching TV and playing. He has moments when he is very playful but he is mostly still and quiet. I have been told to cherish every moment because time flies and he will be grown before I know it. So although it is sad to hear him coughing. I will cherish his stillness and just hold him close until he feels better. Below is a picture of him while I am typing - he is so cute :-)
